Writing Prompt
Écrivez une lettre formelle à votre employeur pour demander une semaine de congé. (80–100 mots)
Madame, Monsieur, Je vous écris pour vous informer que je serai absent la semaine prochaine en raison d'une situation familiale urgente…
GREAT
Formal register is excellent — "Je vous écris" is exactly right.
FIX
"serai absent" must agree with gender — write "absent(e)".
LEVEL UP
Replace "je pense" → "il me semble que" for stronger B2 register.

✍️ Writing — Expression Écrite
B1 Level Prompt
Vous écrivez une lettre formelle à votre employeur pour demander une semaine de congé. Expliquez vos raisons et proposez comment votre travail sera couvert pendant votre absence. (80–100 mots)
Feedback — Writing session complete
3 points · scored against TEF criteria
GREAT
Your formal register is excellent — "Je vous prie d'agréer" is exactly right for a professional letter. Native-level phrasing.
FIX
"je serai absente" — adjective must agree with your gender. Write "absent(e)" throughout the letter.
LEVEL UP
Replace "je pense que" with "il me semble que" to add nuance — this is what B2 writing sounds like.
Session score 82 / 100
🎙 Speaking — Expression Orale
B1 Level Prompt
Parlez-moi d'un moment dans votre vie où vous avez dû prendre une décision difficile. Qu'avez-vous fait et qu'avez-vous appris ? (1–2 minutes)
Oral Feedback — 1m 23s recorded
3 points · fluency, tense, vocabulary
FLUENCY
Strong flow — very few hesitations. You used "d'abord… ensuite… finalement" perfectly to structure your response.
TENSE
Mixed imparfait and passé composé inconsistently. Background context: use "j'étais" not "j'ai été."
VOCABULARY
Instead of "j'ai pensé" try "j'ai pesé le pour et le contre" — richer vocabulary scores higher on TEF.
Oral expression score 76 / 100

THE REALITY OF EXAM PREP

You're enrolled. You're showing up. So why doesn't it feel like enough?

"TEF Canada requires fluency in four skills. Most prep courses give you 2–3 hours of class time a week and a folder of PDFs to take home."

No feedback on your speaking. No way to know if your writing would pass. No idea if you're actually at B2 — or still stuck at B1 with 6 weeks to go. Static materials don't speak back. FluenTEF does.

What your score requires ❌ Most schools only offer ✓ FluenTEF gives you
Daily speaking practice with real feedback Class conversation 2× a week — no feedback Unlimited speaking sessions, scored instantly
Writing corrections in real time Worksheets returned days later Feedback in seconds + B2 rewrite of your text
Listening at your exact CEFR level One difficulty for the entire class Generated at your level — new content every time
Knowing your actual exam readiness Your best guess CEFR score per skill, updated each session
Unlimited practice, any time Finite materials, fixed schedule 24/7 — unlimited exercises, never the same twice
ALL FOUR TEF/TCF SKILLS

One app. Every skill. Infinite practice.

FluenTEF covers the full exam — not just the easy parts. Each skill module generates new exercises every session, tailored to your current level.

🎙
Speaking — Expression Orale

Record your TEF-style spoken responses and get back line-by-line feedback on grammar, vocabulary, and fluency within seconds — not "good effort" but exactly what to fix, and how.

★ Session replay — hear your progress over time
✍️
Writing — Expression Écrite

Submit formal letters and opinion pieces. Get scored against TEF/TCF criteria and see a B2-level rewrite of your text — so you know exactly what a passing answer looks like, not just what's wrong.

★ Side-by-side rewrite — your version vs. B2
👂
Listening — Compréhension Orale

French audio passages generated at your exact CEFR level — new content every session. Comprehension questions revealed one at a time, just like the real exam. No two sessions are ever the same.

FOR SCHOOL DIRECTORS & PRESIDENTS

Your competitors are still handing out PDFs.

While they assign worksheets that go home and never come back, you can offer students real-time AI practice between classes — with data you can actually see.

PROBLEM 01
Students stop practising at home because there's nothing structured to do it with

Worksheets go home and disappear. YouTube videos don't give feedback. Students fall behind without anyone knowing until it's too late.

PROBLEM 02
You don't know who's struggling until exam results come back

There's no visibility between classes. By the time you know a student is at risk, they have two weeks before the exam. Retention suffers. Reputation follows.

PROBLEM 03
Parents and students want measurable progress, not just classroom hours

Enrollment is one thing. A CEFR score that moves upward every week is another. Schools that show data keep students longer and earn more referrals.

"We tried giving students worksheets and YouTube links. Half of them weren't doing anything between classes. FluenTEF changed that — I can see who practiced yesterday, what their writing score is, and which skills are lagging. That's leverage I didn't have before." — Academic Director, Alliance Française partner school, Toronto (pilot program)

FluenTEF gives your program something no textbook publisher can: real-time AI practice your students will actually do.

  • Live teacher dashboard — see every student's CEFR level, weekly practice hours, and per-skill breakdown. No waiting for test results to know who needs support.
  • Assign modules in one tap — send your class a writing prompt or speaking task with a due date. Students are notified in-app automatically. You see who completed it.
  • White-label branding — on the Pro plan, students see your school's name throughout the entire app experience. FluenTEF powers it. Your brand owns it.
  • A supplement, not a replacement — FluenTEF is built to make your instructors look like heroes. Your teaching sets the context. AI practice between sessions makes it stick.

QUESTIONS

Answers to the questions we get most

Yes. Every practice module, prompt, and scoring rubric is built around the TEF Canada and TCF Canada exam format and scoring criteria. This is not a general French learning app — it is exam prep, designed specifically for the government-required French proficiency tests for Canadian permanent residency.

You'll get the most out of FluenTEF from A2 level upward — enough to write simple sentences and follow basic spoken French. The diagnostic at signup identifies your starting level across all four skills, and Sophie adjusts accordingly. Complete beginners (A1) may find the app challenging without some prior classroom instruction.

No — and it's not meant to. FluenTEF is practice between classes. Your teacher explains the concepts and gives you the framework. Sophie makes you apply them hundreds of times until they stick. They work best together. Many schools use FluenTEF as part of their program — students practice at home, and teachers see the results in the dashboard.

Duolingo is general French, gamified. FluenTEF is TEF/TCF-specific and evaluative. Sophie gives paragraph-level writing feedback and pronunciation coaching on speaking recordings — at the exact difficulty level of the TEF exam. Duolingo won't prepare you for the TEF's formal writing section or the oral expression exam. It's a different tool for a different purpose.

Students download the FluenTEF app, enter your school's invite code, and immediately appear in your teacher dashboard. You can see their CEFR level across all four skills, their weekly practice hours, and assign specific modules with due dates. Their experience is a standard student account — but linked to your school's dashboard and (on the Pro plan) branded with your school's name.
